Yanlexis Arizaga

Yanlexis Arizaga has served as the team’s Design Lead since July 2020.  She is consummately skilled in digital art, web design, problem solving, and educating young designers and developers. She’s also passionate about supporting businesses, especially those that make a positive social impact. Yanlexis is the recipient of an Impact100 South Jersey $74,000 grant to support Hopeworks Camden’s mission.

Gabrielle Lee

Development Lead

Gabrielle Lee is the Lead Web Developer for the Hopeworks Web Team, where she produces high quality WordPress websites for businesses, nonprofit organizations, and a host of other clients. Known to friends and loved ones as “Gabby,” she is also a graphic designer, illustrator, and all-around creative.

Our Interns

Youth Interns

Fueling our creativity are our gifted Web Team Associates, most of them members of traditionally underrepresented communities. Their unique backgrounds and perspectives provide additional strength, and give them the sensitivity to create designs that are inclusive and welcoming to all. Our associates are chosen from among those who complete the trauma-informed Hopeworks’ workforce development program. After building extensive technical and soft skills in that program, they then learn—with Annie Rose’s guidance—to build and code websites that exceed client’s expectations. When you contract with Hopeworks, you provide these young creatives with the experience and portfolio development they need to launch themselves into design careers with sustainable wages, which not only changes the trajectory of their lives, but those of their families, as well!

Behind the Screen

Remember how we said, “Build a website. Change a life”? Here’s a story for you. John Teesdale came to Hopeworks already intent on someday working as a graphic designer. He was studying graphic design in art school, yet Hopeworks gave him something he couldn’t get anywhere else. “Hopeworks was unique in that I felt completely supported in every way I needed to be to achieve my goals,” says John.

After completing his training at Hopeworks, John became an intern with the Hopeworks Web Team. He traded on that experience to move into an internship with Being Design, a design firm in Philadelphia. From there, John landed a full-time job as a graphic designer for VoiceComm, LLC in Philadelphia. He also runs his own free graphic and web design/development business on the side. The training and support John received as a Hopeworks Web intern helped him launch.
